Team Brunson Leader - Doyle "Texas Dolly" Brunson
Doyle Brunson is affectionately referred to as 'the old man of poker' by his friends and his opponents. At over 75 years of age, Doyle has seen the game of poker evolve from the illegal back room games he played as a young man to the phenomenom it has become today.
Doyle Brunson has won 10 WSOP bracelets including back to back World Series of Poker Main Event titles. He is showing no signs of slowing down. In fact, Doyle still plays poker every day and often hosts or attends poker games with a minimum buy-in of $100,000 or more.
In 1978, Brunson published his book, "
Super/System", which has become the bible of poker books. He followed up his first offering with "
Super/System 2" where he also included strategies from other well known pros.
Voted the number 1 most influential force in the world of poker by Bluff Magazine in 2006, Doyle Brunson continues to entertain and influence yet another generation of poker players. Doyle is currently working on his autobiography and a book on the greatest poker hands he's ever seen. I'd be willing to bet his infamous and twice lucky 10 - 2 off suit will make the final edit.
Doyle's Room - Team Brunson Member - Todd Brunson
How does the son of the most famous poker player in the world make a name for himself? He wins a WSOP event, that's how!
Todd Brunson grew up in his father's shadow, in a home where poker was the family business for over half a century. It was only natural for Todd to follow in his father's footsteps. He dropped out of college in 1989 so he could persue his dream of playing poker professionally. Oddly enough, Todd and Doyle both claim that Doyle did not teach Todd how to play poker. In fact, poker and gambling were not usually part of the Brunson family conversation.
A year after going pro, Todd Brunson won his first major tournament, proving that he did indeed have what it takes to make it as a pro. Since then Todd has had over 12 major wins including a WSOP bracelet in 2005. That win made history, placing Todd and Doyle Brunson in the record books as the first father and son duo to win WSOP championships not only in the same year but also overall.
Todd Brunson lives in Vegas and plays in the richest cash games in the world where he is one of the most consistent winners. In addition to being a world class hold'em player, Todd is lethal at seven card stud, eight or better. In fact, he wrote the stud eight or better chapter for Doyle's Super/System 2.
Doyle's Room - Team Brunson Member - Mike "The Mad Genius" Caro
The world's foremost authority on poker strategy and psychology, Mike Caro is one of Doyle's closest friends. He is founder of the Mike Caro University of Poker, Gaming, and Life Strategy. He teaches that in order to overcome any odds against you, your decisions must really matter. Therefore, games like craps, roulette and keno - where there's no logical reason to favor one decision over another - cannot be beaten. Poker, sports handicapping, and blackjack can be.
Caro is a noted author, columnist and public speaker. His articles have appeared in countless publications and he has written a half dozen
poker strategy books. Mike also contributed to Doyle's Super/System 2.
Referred to as "the finest draw player alive" by Doyle Brunson, Mike Caro is highly regarded in the professional poker community. Author and professional poker player David Sklansky rates Caro as the number 1 draw player alive. High praise from some of the best poker players in the world!
Mike Caro is an advocate for honesty in gambling. His Cheater Monitoring Service solicited information on scams from around the world. He held an independent office for the service on premises at the Bicycle Club Casino in Los Angeles and invited players to exchange information in absolute confidence. He refuses to teach advanced students unless they pledge to abide by specific ethical standards.
Doyle's Room - Team Brunson Member - Cyndy Violette
Professional poker player since 1984 and WSOP Champion, Cyndy Violette is not your typical poker pro. Cyndy's calm, quiet demeanor, stunning smile and 'girl next door' beauty mask killer instincts and a passion for the game that's difficult to match.
Cyndy Violette boasts a long and distinguished poker career. She won her first major tournament in the mid 80's, $74,000, playing seven card stud. At that time it was the most money ever won by a woman poker player.
In 2004 Cyndy won the WSOP 7 card stud high-low tournament. Winning that bracelet was a lifelong dream come true and cemented her reputation as one of the best poker players in the world, man or woman! In 2005, Violette made three final tables at the WSOP. She cashed at a total of six events that year!
Doyle's Room - Team Brunson Member - Hoyt "The Alabama Cowboy" Corkins
Known as one of the most aggressive players around, Hoyt is often referred to as 'Mr All-in' by his peers. Corkins learned his 'no fear' poker philosophy from his father and used it to good advantage, winning the 1992 World Series of Poker Championship in Pot-Limit Omaha.
Hoyt Corkins went on to win the WPT Foxwood Event in 1993 where he took home over $1 million. In 2007 Hoyt won a bracelet in the 6 handed hold'em event where he defeated Terence Chan to win over $515,000. He has currently earned over $3 million in career tournament winnings.
Hoyt Corkins is a true "Alabama Cowboy" complete with black hat and shirt, blue jeans and cowboy boots, which he wears to every poker event. Hoyt plays poker fast and aggressive and likes to intimidate his opponents with his loose play. Corkins' peers describe him as soft spoken, even humble. He's well liked and respected despite his uber-aggressive style of play.

Nick-named "The Robinhood of Poker" for his habit of donating 100% of his tournament winnings to children's charities, Barry is undoubtedly the most generous man in poker. In addition to his regular tournament appearances, Barry is a regular fixture at the biggest cash games in the world.
Barry Greenstein holds a couple of degrees including a Ph.D. in mathematics. He went to work for Symantec (makers of Norton Anti-Virus) from 1984 - 1991. Greenstein retired at the ripe old age of 36 to pursue his passion for poker full time.
